When a Pass ends
Nothing you wrote is deleted, and no family link stops working. You can still read, print and change everything. Only adding beyond the free room (a second budget, more lines, more links) waits until you have a Pass again. A Pass bought while another is running starts when the first one ends.
Refunds
When payments start, a Pass will be sold through PayPal; a refunded payment ends that Pass. Until then nothing is charged.
